We held our 8th bi-annual Truly Affinity Event this week at the Preston Marriot Hotel. This popular event is attended by our IFAs from throughout the UK, our Directors, Head Office team, guest speakers and, for the first time was open to other financial advisers as well.
Our three guest speakers provided a fantastic opportunity for advisers to earn CPD points and take part in some engaging discussions. They were Paul Green from BMO Global Asset Management who discussed ‘Adding value with Active Management’, James Chu from Reyker giving an ‘Introduction to Structured Products’ and Kevan Ramanauckis from Canada Life speaking about Retirement Advice and whether ‘It is more challenging for HNW or Core Affluent’.
This Affinity Event also had a first ‘Adviser Insight’ presentation from Truly IFA, Mark Cooper, who shared his experiences and gave his ‘Top Ten Tips’ on running his business, generating clients, and enjoying a happier work/life balance. It received a positive response and we’re already looking forward to having another ‘Adviser Insight’ at the next Affinity.
There was a compliance update and Managing Director, Andrew Goodwin, gave an update on company financials, marketing and new schemes such as our Chartered Financial Adviser Bonus. One lucky adviser also won a bottle of champagne in our charity raffle which saw us raise £125 for The National Autistic Society.
About the event, Andrew said: “This was the biggest Affinity we’d had to date and it was fantastic. It was great to see all of our IFAs as well as welcoming new faces who all thoroughly enjoyed the event as well. We’re already looking forward to the next one which we will again be opening up to non-Truly Independent advisers who are welcome to come along, meet the team, earn themselves some CPD points and enjoy a good day too.”
